Anganwadi Workers Across State to Be Felicitated on Raksha Bandhan

Udaipur’s 4,736 workers at 2,368 centres to be included; all of them will receive sweets along with the Rs 501

Udaipur, Aug 4, 2025 - On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan (August 9), the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) department has decided to honour the women working in Anganwadi centres across the Rajasthan.

As part of this initiative, Anganwadi workers and helpers throughout the State will be felicitated. Each of them will receive Rs 501 in cash along with sweets. A special budget of Rs 6.31 crore has been allocated by the government and the department for this purpose, with a separate amount earmarked for sweets.

In Udaipur district, there are 2,368 Anganwadi centres employing 4,736 workers and helpers. All of them will receive sweets along with the Rs 501 payment.

Across the State, there are 63,071 centres, with 63,071 helpers and an equal number of workers. A total of 1,26,142 Anganwadi workers and helpers will be honoured.

On an average, each district will spend around Rs 3.5 lakh, of which Rs 2 lakh will be allocated for event organisation and Rs 1.5 lakh for gifts and sweets.

Under this special event, Anganwadi workers will also receive certificates of appreciation and gifts in recognition of their invaluable contributions. Through the distribution of sweets and the honour ceremony, not only will these women gain social recognition, but it will also instill a sense of pride in their work.

The government believes that honouring Anganwadi workers will boost their morale, strengthen the nutrition and health mission at rural and urban levels, and further enhance their efficiency and commitment to service.
