Head Constable Bhupendra Vyas bagged Silver in the World Police and Fire Games International Power lifting competition held in United States of America.

HC Bhupendra Vyas returned home on Monday after winning Silver in World Police and Fire Games held in the USA. He had travelled to USA on his own expenses with zeal to win while he represented India in the World police games. Vyas beat others by lifting 310 kilo weight in the Push and Pull section and won Silver medal.

 He arrived from Chetak Express on Monday morning. He was welcomed by members of District Power Lifting association, Traffic police and many other fans. During this time, the entire path in front of station’s main gate was blocked due to haphazard parking of vehicles brought by all these people. Fire crackers were burst and music was played on full blast.

Though it was time for merry making, it was not done in the correct way. The loud sound of crackers and music caused irritation and even nausea to many passengers who were on the same train. Travellers were literally pushed by the fans while Vyas was being lifted up on shoulders to be carried out of the station being a winner. Apart from this, the clean station was left dirty with crackers, ash, flowers and paper scraps. By the time Railway officers reached the spot, the crowd had already left.

Vyas was welcomed at Udiapole, Surajploe and Hathipole

Vyas was taken to LuvKush Indoor stadium in an open jeep. At UdiapoleTI Netrapal Singh and his team covered Vyas with garlands. Further ahead Surajpole and Hathipole police also gave him a grand welcome. Later in a ceremony at LuvKush Indoor stadium Sports Officer Lalit Singh Jhala, Coach Amritlal Kalyani and a few others declared that Vyas will be honoured with cash prize for his achievement.
