Bohra Youth School Celebrates Independence Day with Patriotic Spirit
Udaipur, Aug 16, 2025 - Bohra Youth Public Senior Secondary School (BYPS), Bohrawadi, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with a patriotic fervour and great enthusiasm at its school campus, yesterday. Students across all grades actively participated in the celebration and put up a wonderful performance of songs, dance and poetry which honoured the sacrifices of the countless freedom fighters who gave the Nation this priceless gift of freedom.
Chief Guest of the event was Dr Khalil Agwani, president of Life Progressive Society. He was accompanied by members of the Society which has been instrumental in providing financial support to needy students.
Guest of Honour was Rehana Ali, key organiser of the Bohra Youth Association Kuwait Kids Book Club, which was a sponsor of the academic prizes distributed to the students.
The entire school premises were beautifully decorated with tricolour flags, handmade flowers and posters showcasing national pride.

The programme began with the welcoming of the guests by BYPS Administrator Zohra Khan. Addressing the students, she reminded them of their responsibilities in building the India of tomorrow. She also emphasised that true independence means taking responsibility and contributing positively to society.
This was followed by the flag hoisting ceremony led by the Chief Guest. Everyone present joined in the powerful rendition of the National Anthem.
In her speech, Principal Vijay Ameta highlighted the impressive progress made by the school in all fields. She encouraged the students by reminding them of the sacrifices made by the Nation’s forefathers, urging everyone to value the freedom they enjoy today.
The cultural segment featured a wide variety of performances prepared by students from all grades. Young ones presented a beautiful group dance in tricolour attire, representing the unity in India’s cultural diversity.
From patriotic songs, drill display and dances to speeches and cultural performances — each part of the event was a tribute to India and its rich heritage. Little children from Grades LKG to II took to the stage to sway to patriotic beats leaving the audience enthralled by their meaningful message of unity and diversity that defines India today.
A prize distribution ceremony was held to felicitate students who ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the last academic year. The prizes were given away by Rehana Ali, Dr Agwani, Secretary of the Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat (DBJ) Feroz Tinwala and BYPS Committee Convenor Anis Hitawala.

Addressing the audience, Dr Agwani highlighted the role children must play to lead India into a brighter future with knowledge, unity and determination.
Rehana Ali congratulated the prize winners and encouraged those who had not won by asking them to continue working hard which would one day grant them success, too. She impressed upon them to uphold the values of unity, discipline and patriotism.
In his speech, DBJ Secretary Feroz Tinwala praised the students for their dedication and enthusiasm saying it had left a lasting impact on everyone present.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Nazima Amar. The host of the ceremony was Shaheen Khan , Azima Qazi and Ifraa Khanum.
Also present at the Independence Day programme were Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat members, Medical Relief Society members and parents.
