The Dawoodi Bohra community will celebrate the festival of Eid ul Fitr tomorrow, Saturday, 18th August. The Eid Namaz will be conducted in several mosques of Udaipur tomorrow early morning after dawn, known as Namaz-e-Khutba.

The Eid Ul Fitr is celebrated on first day of Islamic month of Shawaal after the conclusion of the Holy month of Ramadan.

A strong community of Bohras in Udaipur started preparations for Eid festival days prior to the festival, which consisted of shopping new clothes, cleaning of house, preparing sweets, etc.

Eid is celebrated with an exchange of greetings and giving ‘Eidi’ to children who are persistently excited for the special occasion.  Also, men offer Salaam to their female counterparts in the community.
