The festival of Makar Sakaranti was celebrated today in the city with full of joy and fervor. Kite Flying, Sitolia and desserts made of Til are symbols of the festival which was commonly seen at many places. Various groups and organizations also organized special events to mark the occasion.

Laathi the old aged home celebrated the festival with old aged people living at Laathi and orphan children who specially visited them to celebrate the fest together. Kids played Sitolia with senior citizens and also enjoyed flying colorful kites too. Students of Eduwings Institutes were also present on the occasion.

City organizations make Makar Sankranti meaningfulDPS, Rotary Interact and Rotary Club Udaipur jointly held Makar Sankranti celebration with physically challenged children.

Manish Galundia club president has informed that children of Sanjeevani Disabled Hostel learned making kites by students of DPS School who visited them in hostel today. Later both students enjoyed kite flying at Fateh sagar Lake.

City organizations make Makar Sankranti meaningfulPoor and Destitute people were fed by Keshavdham Seva Sansthan, Maldas Street today on the occasion of Makar Sankaranti.

Dr B.S Bumb of the organization informed that 1100 people were provided food while 300 people were given food packets a night before.

Volunteers of organization Vivek Chajed, Ashok Madrecha, Rajesh Toshniwal, Kamlesh Bumb, Sunil Bapna, Rakesh Chaplot, Sunderlal Mandawat, Sampat Bapna, Shailesh Maroo, Meethalal Singhvi and Yashwant Talesra coordinated to make the event successful.
