City turns Blissful on Krishna Janmashtami
The joyful festival of Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated across Udaipur with utmost devotion and joy. Hundreds and thousands of devotees visited the famous Jagdish Mandir and other Shree Krishna Temples of the city.
The joyful festival of Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated across Udaipur with utmost devotion and joy. Hundreds and thousands of devotees visited the famous Jagdish Mandir and other Shree Krishna Temples of the city.
The celebration was started on Sunday 17th Aug which continued till 18th August. The popular ritual of Matki Phod (Dahi Handi) was held at many places on Sunday while the biggest Dahi Handi was held on 18th Aug at Jagdish Chowk where 11 teams from different localities took part and attempted to smash the earthen pot hanging several feet high, through human pyramid.
The winner team of Gadiya Devra was awarded with Rs. 21,111 sponsored by Sunrise Group of Institute and Rs.11000 by student leader Devendra Singh Chundawat.
Before Matki Phod, a cultural program was held at Jagdish Chowk which included performances by school students and professionals.
