Udaipur Local News: Dawoodi Bohras Honour Prophet Mohammed's Legacy on Milad un Nabi
UdaipurTimes, Local Community News | August 24, 2026: The Dawoodi Bohra community of Udaipur joined Muslims across the globe in commemorating Milad un Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed (SAW). Over 500 community members from diverse professions and localities, namely Ezzy and Moyyedpura neighbourhoods, participated enthusiastically in a commemorative procession.
The procession commenced at the Syedi Lukmanji Saheb Dargah, passed through Lukmanji Marg, Ashwini Bazaar, and Hathipole, and concluded at Saifee Hall. The procession featured traditional community bands alongside marching school students carrying the national flag.
Across the city and worldwide, Dawoodi Bohras gathered in local masjids and community centres to listen to recorded sermons delivered by the late 51st leader, Syedna Taher Saifuddin, and the 52nd leader, His Holiness Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin, reflecting on the enduring life and teachings of Prophet Mohammed (SAW).
"The Prophet's (SAW) life and teachings centred on compassion, justice, and humanity serve as a guiding light for every Muslim," said Hasan Hamid, a member of the Dawoodi Bohras of Udaipur. "We are constantly reminded to embody these values in our daily lives by striving to be productive citizens who contribute positively to wider society."
He added, "On this auspicious occasion, community members also visited the Udaipur General Hospital to serve food to more than 300 patients and their families."
In addition, representatives visited Hathipole and Dhanmandi police stations to distribute sweets and express gratitude to local law enforcement for ensuring the smooth conduct of the procession.
