Hundreds of devotees flocked to Jagdish Temple on the auspicious occasion of Nirjala Ekadashi which is celebrated in the month of Jyestha in Shukla Paksha.

The day consisted of several religious practices including keeping fast and visiting temples. Nirjala Ekadashi is also celebrated as Kite Flying day in Udaipur.

Women folks were seen queued outside the Jagdish Temple this evening, whereas series of bhajan kirtans were playing inside the temple premises. Seeing the large number of people, administration had deployed additional security forces to keep the situation peaceful.

Many devotees give alms on this day, while many keep fast. Nirjala Ekadashi holds special place in the Hindu societies of Udaipur.
