On the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras which is celebrated two days before Deepawali, a large number of devotees visited Mahalaxmi Mandir situated around town.

A grand program of Chappan Bhog was held at Maha Laxmi Temple, Bhatiyani Chohta today.

Laden with beautifully emboss costume with fine silver work on it, the idol of Goddess Laxmi was decorated with ornamented circlet. The devotees offered Chappan Bhog (several varieties of sweets and eatables) which was followed by prayers.

The clothes of Goddess Laxmi were specially prepared by craftsmen from Kolkata who took more than a month to prepare the cloth as it has the minute work of ‘Danka’ and also contains pure silver worth Lakhs of rupees.

Sector-11 Mahalaxmi Mandir

The Mahalaxmi Mandir located at Sector 11 (behind Agarwal Dharmshala) is also observing hundreds of devotees every day. The Mandir management decorated the whole temple compound with lights and is organizing special Maharati of 501 diyas on the day Deepwali.

Priest of the Mandir, Pandit Rajesh Ameta informed, “From today on Dhan Teras till Khekra, the temple will be open for darshan.”

Temple committee president Bhanwar Singh Choudhary informed that on 28th October program of Annakut Mahotsav will be held.
