The celebrations of Eid ul-Fitr was witnessed among the Dawoodi Bohra community today with absolute harmony and delight. The day commenced with early morning Eid Namaz at mosques across the city.

The celebrations of Eid ul-Fitr was witnessed among the Dawoodi Bohra community today with absolute harmony and delight. The day commenced with early morning Eid Namaz at mosques across the city.

Eid ul-Fitr is an important religious occasion celebrated by millions worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.  During the month long of fasting, the devotees indulge in prayers, alms giving and recitation of Quran. Eid is celebrated on the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal.

The people of the community meet their relatives, friends and exchange greetings in traditional manner. New clothes are adorned, sewaiyyan is enjoyed and eidi is given to children as part of the significant customs followed on Eid.

The special Namaz was offered at 6.15 AM at Burhani Masjid, Mulyadpura Masjid, Lukmaan Masjid situated near Sayyadna Khanjipeer Dargh,Saifi Hall Neemach Kheda, Fatah Apartment and at Moti Magri Scheme. Eid ul-Fitr celebrations by Dawoodi Bohras After offering Namaz, Majlis was organized at various places in which religious writings were read. The people also remembered their holy leader Dr. Sayyedna Mohammad Buthanudin and prayed for his soul, for the good health ad long life of their 53 rd Dai ul-Mutalaq religious leder Allikar Muffadal Saiffudin, said community spokesperson B Moomin.

While Dawoodi Bohra celebrated Eid today, rest of the Muslims might celebrated the festival on 18th July as per the moon sighting.
