Celebrations are going on in Udaipur city to welcome Nav Samvatsar 2076. A programme in this series was organised at Fatehsagar pal on Thursday evening. Turban tying competition was held on the evening of 4th April.

“पगड़ी सजाओ, संस्कृति बचाओ” was the slogan that followed and this slogan filled the children with enthusiasm. As informed by Dr. Pradeep Kumawat , a number of children participated in this competition and their spirit was unbeatable. Around 250 children under the age of 12 and 300 others participated and each participant was awarded for their love for culture. Kathak Ashram and Sukoon Band also gave performances wherein patriotic songs filled the hearts with emotions.

Today’s highlight i.e. 5th April is “Jyoti Kalash Sanskruti Chetna Yatra”. The main yatra will begin from Nathdwara. Second one will start from Baijnath Mahadev mandir in Sisarma and the third one will start from Bohra Ganeshji temple. The confluence of these 3 yatras will be at Hathipole at 6:30 p.m. today.  From Hathipole, another yatra “Jai Hind Dhwaj Jyoti Kalah Yatra” will begin which is a tribute to the martyrs of Pulwama attack. At 7 p.m. Ganga arti will take place at Gangaur Ghat.
