UMC today initiated their efforts in introducing the Paal section cleaning in anticipation of the overflow of Fatehsagar, that is expected to happen either on Sunday morning or towards late evening, as the Queen Lake of Udaipur is set to enthrall its patrons once again with the much awaited overflow.
As per administration, the gates should be opened to let the water flow to Ayad river and beyond, either towards the latter part of Sunday or towards Monday morning as the water levels are just around half a feet below the overflow mark. The water however has come over the pedestrian roads and seems restless to overflow.
UMC, on its part has initiated the cleaning efforts since today morning in anticipation, and to provide a cleaner view of the water overflowing and lights all shining during the evenings when the gates are opened.
Due to the constant stream of water coming in from Madar, the 14ft Fatehsagar touched 13.5 ft on Friday itself. Despite the break in Rains, the waters are expected to touch overflow point. On the other end, a consistent flow from Sisarma has also ensure that Pichola reach 11ft, where Udaisagar still needs approximately 2feet increase in water levels to open its gates. Badi Talab on the other hand has touched 20ft. The increase in cloud cover over the last 24 hours keeps us in anticipation of another burst of monsoon, Udaipur’s most awaited Season.
Lets wait for tomorrow then…Udaipur!
