Rajasthan's Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today evening to pacify residents of the state on the eve of Diwali, on the recently imposed ban on sale of firecrackers. This comes after the ban on firecrackers and the resistance from people especially those in the firecrackers business.

In his tweet, the Chief Minister said that the ban on sale of firecrackers was not imposed under a religious or festive angle, but more from the perspective of the dire health situation in the state during the ongoing COVID pandemic. He urged the people of Rajasthan to celebrate Diwali by lighting diyas instead of bursting crackers.
