Foreign tourists/Indian costumes – fun filled Mewar mahotsav
The city witnessed a colourful evening on Friday evening at Gangaur Ghat where foreign tourists dressed up in Indian costumes gave splendid performances on Indian folk songs. Their performance actually fascinated the locals gathered on the ghat and everyone encouraged the foreign guests through cheers, applause and of course, whistles. 9 foreign couples took to stage and amazed everyone with their moves. The 3 best performances were rewarded by the tourism department.

Their performance actually fascinated the locals gathered on the ghat and everyone encouraged the foreign guests through cheers, applause and of course, whistles. 9 foreign couples took to stage and amazed everyone with their moves. The 3 best performances were rewarded by the tourism department.
Local artists also performed in the cultural program. The various performances by artists of the different tourism departments were Garba from Gujarat, Ring Bhavai from Alwar, Khari dance, flower holi from Bharatpur, Mayur dance, Chakri from Baran, Terah-tali from Gogunda.
Assistant Director Tourism Sumita Saroch said that artists were also rewarded for decorating Gangaur. 15000 rupees were given to Kahar Bhoi community as first prize, Rajmali Gangaur committee stood second with 10000 rupees, Marwari Gaancha stood third with 7500 rupees. Among the competition for foreign guests, Australia’s Henley Jones and Patricia stood first, Edward and Sarah from Spain stood 2nd and Andrew and Joy from France stood third. The winners will be taken for dinner to Lake Palace, Leela Regency and Lalit Laxmi Vilas respectively.
