One of the most awaited events during monsoons is Hariyali Amavasya Mela. A fare that celebrates the colours of nature is also meant to bring people closer to nature.

Hariyali Amavasya is not just celebrated as a fare; it is also celebrated as a festival. It is also referred to as the festival of greenery and marks the onset of monsoon season. This year the fare will be celebrated on 11th and 12th August.

A meeting was held in Municipal Corporation office regarding the arrangements for the fare. The stage meant for cultural programmes in the fare will be 9 feet high.  It was also decided to install statues of Dr. Rajendra Prasad and Chandra Shekhar Azad on different points in the city. A statue of Meera Bai will also be placed in Meera Girls College.

Other points of discussion in the meeting were regarding felicitating students who have scored 75% or more marks in 10th and 12th standard. The felicitation ceremony will be held on 22nd July. Winners of marathon held on Udaipur’s foundation day will also be awarded.
