Holi was celebrated with full enthusiasm in the city and nearby regions. From kids to adults, the colours of holi could be seen everywhere with family, friends and relatives. People danced to folk and filmy tunes. Even some hostellers stayed back for the festival to enjoy with the day-scholars to have the feel of a different environment.
The most interesting part being the foreign tourists who danced along with the locals in the famous Jagdish temple where people celebrate “faag” with Lord Jagdish every year. The area was much more overcrowded as compared to last year. Despite the cold wave since last two days, people had started playing holi early morning. The joy seemed to have possessed everyone.
Rajsamand and Nathdwara also witnessed the brightest of colours. In Nathdwara, Shrinathji temple was filled with devotees who enjoyed the festival by applying colour on each other and danced to the bhajans.
Roads in the lake city were full of Gujarati tourists which actually caused traffic jam in the tourist places of Udaipur. Since road sides have been dug up for cable- work, roads have narrowed to a great extent causing traffic jam.
