The annual mass procession of Jaganath Rath Yatra will be organized on 29^th June. The silver plated cart of Lord Jagannath was taken out last night in various parts and will be assembled and decorated. Devotees of Rath Yatra Samiti had polished parts of the ‘Rath’ in past 15 days.

The members of Rath Yatra Samiti informed, “The rath will be assembled and kept on display for local masses today. A ‘Bhajan’ is also organized on eve before the mass procession, which will start from 9 pm this evening and continue till mid-night.”

On 29^th June, Idol of Lord Jagannath would be loaded in silver cart for city tour after paying due ritual. The mass procession would begin from Jagdish Temple from 3 pm, will travel around 7 kms across old city areas. The holy procession will be welcomed by various communities by showering flower at various localities.

The annual procession is also aided with a Maha Aarti in which more than 21 thousand lamps will be included.
