The morning of 10th August will witness the traditional Govinda, where a Pot filled with butter milk is positioned at a height and a human tower is erected to break the pot. This event, as usual, will be held at Jagdish Chowk, and the Jagdish Mandir is being elaborately decorated to suit the occasion.

This year 10 teams will be vying against each other to try and break the overhanging Pot (Matka). The winning team will be awarded with Rs. 21,111, as communicated by Dinesh Makwana, President of the Dharmotsava Committee, which is looking after the preparations and events this year.

Accompanying the night of Bhajans and the morning programs, various Cultural events will also be held where young children will be encouraged to display their inherent talents and skills.

Dinesh also said that since this year Janmashtami is near to August 15, which is Indian Independence Day, the theme of the entire Janmashtami will be Patriotic. Late Dy Commandant (BSF) Tarun Gupta, who met death while serving the nation, will be remembered on this day and his family will be duly honored.
