Organized by Udaipur Tourism Department and local administration of Kumbhalgarh, the three day Kumbhalgarh Festival 2014 will start from Jan 28 and will continue till Jan 30 at Kumbhalgarh fort, around 101 kms from Udaipur.

The festival attracts hundreds of tourists every year who not only enjoy the serene valley and historical forts and monuments of Kumbhalgarh but also watch the social and cultural life, art and music of Mewar.

Sumita Saroch, Deputy Director Tourism Department informed that on first day of Kumbhalgarh Festival, mixture of classical dance by Shalu Jindal will be the main program including other outdoor activities and competitions.

Bhojpuri Folk Dance by Malini Avasthi will be center of attraction on the second day of the cultural evening while on the third day Rajasthani Folk Program will attract the audience.

Other events like turban competition, tug-of-war and presentation by school girls who will showcase Mehandi and Rangoli arts will be included.

The annual festival pulls many local and foreign tourists every year. Apart from Kumbhalgarh Fest, Tourism Department has also organized Beneshwar Festival (Feb 11-14) and Mewar Festival (March-April).
