Popular winter folk harvest festival of North India Lohri was celebrated with exuberance and funfare at the Seedling School campus in Udaipur. Mood across campus was upbeat as students and parents were totally absorbed in the festive spirit.

This North Indian festival of Lohri has many colloquials across the country. This day or couple of days around this winter festival, communities pan India celebrate with various names accorded to the festival. It is called Lohri in Punjab, Makar Sankranti in Maharashtra, Andrha Pradesh, Telangana and Rajasthan, Uttrayan in Gujarat, Makar Sankramana in Karnataka, Makaravilakku in KeralaThai Pongal in Tamil Nadu, Magha Sajhi in Himachal Pradesh, Kicheri in Uttar PradeshSakraat in Bihar and JharkhandPoush Sankranti in West BengalMagh Bihu / Bhogali Bihu in Assam and Makara Sankranti in Odisha

Celebrations at Seedling began with lighting of the bonfire and making offerings to the Almighty. This was followed by a speech signifying the importance of the festival and power packed dance performance by students of Grade - IV. 

Activities like ramp walk, fun games, tug of war and dance on the Punjabi beats was thoroughly enjoyed by the parents. The parents also enjoyed clicking photographs at the Selfie Corner.

Winners of various events were awarded with prizes. Towards the end, Director Moneeta Bakshi and the Principal conveyed Lohri and Makkar Sankranti wishes to everyone.
