The celebration of Deepawali reached its pinnacle around sun set as the religious rituals were being performed.  As the night sky dawned, it was showered with fireworks, lighting and greetings from the City of Lakes.

Groups of friends and families greeted each other, set off fireworks and enjoyed the ambience offered by well decorated homes, markets and streets throughout the city.  Be it Bapu Bazaar, Ashwini Bazaar, Gol Choraha, Bhattiyani Chohatta, Jagdish Mandir, Hathipole or sectors of Hiran Magri, there was a common spirit felt everywhere in the city that again turned it into a mass fair, which extends beyond social or religious boundaries.

The Ashiwini Bazar Business Association, like in the previous year, have arranged special programs for 2 days, with series of events like dance and fancy dress competition, songs and a live band performance.

Anees Miyaji, proprietor of Noble Bearing, Ashwini Bazaar, said “Today, on the last day of this event, we have introduced several programs for kids like fancy dress and mimicry.  We are trying our best to improve every aspect of the celebrating in a desire to make the celebration of Deepawali more joyful.  The decorations at Ashiwni Bazar are also improved over last year.”

The shop and business owners of Bapu Bazaar have also made special arrangements and organized a live band show, dance competition for kids, rapid-competitions and many other programs which has attracted hundreds of people.

With the unrelenting assistance of the Udaipur Police, Administration and the common public, the grand festival of Deepawali has once again been celebrated amidst an environment of peace and harmony.
