The entire multiplex had been decorated with flowers, Rangoli designs and balloons to celebrate the first year of its successful operations in the city.

 

PVR Marks 1 Year in UdaipurUdaipur’s first four-screen multiplex, PVR, celebrated its first anniversary today. PVR Ltd., joint venture between Priya Exhibitors Private Limited and Village Roadshow Limited, had setup its movie multiplex at the Celebration Mall, Udaipur, the first of its kind for the city, on July 6, 2011.

The occasion was celebrated with great splendor, in the presence of Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, who was the Chief Guest at the event.

The event commenced with a Lamp Lighting ceremony in the Multiplex foyer by Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar. A PVR shaped cake was also cut in the program by the Chief Guest and Vineet Virdi, General Manager, PVR Cinemas, Udaipur.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ajay Bijli, Chairman and Managing Director, PVR Ltd. said, “We are extremely pleased to complete a year’s journey in the Royal City of Udaipur.” He further added, “PVR Cinemas in Udaipur is one of the most distinctively designed properties we own across India.” He also thanked Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar for gracing the occasion with his presence.

The Chief Guest, in his address to everyone said, “I feel extremely pleased to be present for the first Anniversary celebrations of PVR. We are delighted with their presence in our city to provide quality cinema viewing experience. I wish them success for all their future endeavors in the city of Udaipur.”

PVR is also be organizing a ‘lucky seat’ contest today and tomorrow. Every show will have one lucky seat and whoever buys the particular ticket will be given a prize by the cinema house. Sonam Vimal was the first patron to win in the lucky seat contest.

The multiplex in Udaipur has a capacity of 1150 seats and designed in a combination of the traditional cinema seating with a modern touch.
