The festival of Raksha Bandhan which depicts the bonding between brothers and sisters was celebrated in Udaipur with much pleasure and devotion. The series of visiting siblings continued whole day as sisters tied Rakhi on their brother’s hand; in return brothers gave blessings and gifts to their sisters.

Rajasthan Roadways offers free service to women passengers

Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) alike every year announced free travelling for all women on all the routes within the state.

The free travelling started from Saturday mid-night continued till Sunday mid-night. Around 450 special buses were installed for women passengers which covered 5000 thousand routes connecting both rural and urban parts of Rajasthan.

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Central Jail was kept open for sisters to tie Rakhi on their brother’s wrist. Prisoners were allowed to meet their sisters, but at the same time security was also kept tight.

Kailash Trivedi, Jail Superintendent informed that a similar arrangement was also done in Women prison, where number of brothers met their sisters on eve of Rakhi. A much higher number of sisters arrived at Jail premises in comparison to last few years, informed superintendent.
