Most of us take part in regular public and private flag hoisting and unfurling ceremonies to fulfill a sense of purpose; however this is the first time that an impromptu flag unfurling was done on the banks of Fatehsagar.

72nd Republic Day was celebrated at Udaipur by unfurling the Tricolor alongside the Vivekananda status on the banks of Fatehsagar.

Each morning is meant to bring in a day of expectations, celebrations and purpose. This morning was no different as the nation woke up to celebrate the 72nd Indian Republic Day.

UdaipurTimes took this opportunity to celebrate the occasion at Udaipur’s favorite spot, Fatehsagar. Members of the UdaipurTimes team brought together morning walkers and police personnel at Vivekananda Park situated at the base of Circuit House.

Retired Foreman of the Water Works department in Udaipur, Subhashji Acharya, who is a regular at FAtehsagar, gave a motivational talk near the Vivekananda statue, where the flag unfurling was don. Morning walkers and a few police personnel joined in the rendition of the National Anthem.

Shyamlalji Sukhwal, in his talk to the gathering said usually people make resolutions on New Years’ day, but this time let us make a resolution on Republic Day and mark a positive change in our lives.

We take part in public gatherings and established private flag hoisting and unfurling ceremonies to fulfill a purpose, but this is the first time that an impromptu flag unfurling was done at Fatehsagar. We hope to continue this and make it a recorded tradition.
