Six departments and eleven districts will participate in the State-level Republic Day celebrations presenting their tableaux to highlight the natural and cultural heritage, as well as achievements of Rajasthan
Udaipur, January 24, 2025 - The State-level Republic Day celebrations in Udaipur will showcase both the cultural pride of Rajasthan and the vision of a developed India. Six departments and eleven districts will participate in the celebrations presenting their tableaux to highlight the implementation of various schemes in the State and the vision of prosperity for every home. Additionally, the tableaux will also showcase the valour, sacrifices and rich cultural heritage deeply embedded in every corner of Rajasthan.
Destination Wedding Hub
A new tableau on the theme of Udaipur as a destination wedding hub will be the highlight of the Republic Day ceremony. This tableau is being prepared under the guidance of District Collector Arvind Poswal. It will depict the historical and natural heritage of the city and its growth as a favourite global destination for weddings.
Sunil Sharma, Commissioner of the Department of Information and Public Relations, has been appointed as the Nodal Officer for co-ordinating the tableaux presentations. So far, 17 tableaux have been shortlisted for the main ceremony, covering six departments and 11 districts, including all districts from the Udaipur division.
On the district level, District Collector Arvind Poswal has appointed Kirit Rathore, Land Management Officer, as in charge of ensuring smooth organisation of tableaux displays.
Department-wise Displays
The Tourism Department will showcase the immense tourism potential of Udaipur and other parts of the State through its tableau. The Health Department is preparing a tableau on the theme TB Hataega, Desh Jeetega (TB will be defeated, the country will win), along with Mhare Gaon, TB Na Pasare Paanv (In our village, TB will not spread). The Agriculture and Agricultural Marketing Departments will present a tableau highlighting co-ordinated farming systems and organic farming models. This will include the display of vermi-compost production units, Namo Drone Didi (live exhibitions), flower cultivation, advanced vegetable farming, poultry farming, rabbit farming, Japanese quail farming and goat farming.
Accompanying it will be a Gawri folk dance performance.
The Department of Industry, Commerce and the BIP will present a tableau under the Rising Rajasthan theme which will depict investment proposals in the State and showcase the growing opportunities for investment and employment. The Panchayati Raj Department will present the progress and impact of the Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyaan 2.0 through a model. Alongside there will be puppetry performance by folk, street plays and more.
District Representations
Chittorgarh will be represented through a tableau marking the 525th birth anniversary of Sant Meerabai. It will be based on the theme of devotion, strength and sacrifice, depicting the valour of Mewar and the sacrifice of Mother Pannadhay. A replica of the Sanwariya Seth Temple will also be included.
Banswara will present a tableau showing the religious and historical significance of the tribal site, Mangarh Dham. It will depict the statue of Govind Guru and the sacrifices at Mangarh Dham, which is often compared to the Jallianwala Bagh incident of Rajasthan.
Dungarpur will show a tableau highlighting the cultural and historical heritage of the region, including the Thambiya Mahal, Badal Mahal, Devsomnath Temple and Beneshwar Dham.
A tableau from Pratapgarh, under the theme Kanthal- The Confluence of Faith and Nature, will display the Sitamata Wildlife Sanctuary, the Gautameshwar Temple, along with tribal dance, local Mandna, and Thewa art.
Salumber will present a tableau highlighting the sacrifice of Hadi Rani, the valour of Maharana Pratap, the devotion of Idana Mata, and the foresight of the Mewar rulers in water conservation through the Jaisamand Lake.
Rajsamand tableau will present the 4P model of cleanliness, My Office, Clean Office, and the achievements of the collective cleanliness campaign.
Kota will present a tableau under the theme Successful Kota, highlighting the city’s success in various areas.
Jaipur will be represented through a tableau illustrating development and cultural splendour.
From Bharatpur, a tableau will present the Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary, which is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.
Bikaner will highlight Rajasthan’s leadership in solar energy.
