The 13th night of the new moon in the month of Maagh- the religious day of Maha Shivratri will be celebrated in the city tomorrow on 17th February. The festivity will commence today on Monday when devotees will traverse barefoot to Eklingji.

The 13th night of the new moon in the month of Maagh- the religious day of Maha Shivratri will be celebrated in the city tomorrow on 17th February. The festivity will commence today on Monday when devotees will traverse barefoot to Eklingji.

The 200 temples of Lord Shiv are decorated all around the city. The traditional Shivratri fair will be organized at Eklingnath Mahadev Temple. According to Eklingji Trust, the special Puja will start at 10 AM on Tuesday and will complete between 11.30 AM-12.00 PM on Wednesday.

The 13 Rudra Path will be held in each time zone i.e. from 4.30 AM to 7 AM; 10.30 AM to 1.30 PM and evening 5 PM to 7.30 PM. For the Puja-Darshan the gates will remain open from Tuesday 10 PM till Wednesday morning 11.30 AM.

President Tejsingh Sarupriya and Secretary Chandra Shekhar Dhadhich of Mahakaleshwar Temple informed that on Shivratri, the Puja will commence at 4 AM.  Along with Rudra Path, other religious programs including sacred bath of Shivling with holy water and milk will take place.

At 7 AM: Only the regular devotees of the temple will have entry till 7.

From 7.30 AM to 12 PM: Devotees can take a sight of the Lord after Shringar.

At 6 PM: Maha-Arti at Ganga Ghat with 1008 lamps.

At 7.30 PM: Evening Aarti and Puja.

Shiv Dal Mewar will organize a religious procession from Town Hall at 11.50 PM with 12 replicas of Shivling. Camel carts will adorn tableau of replicas of Shivling, Om Banna, Maa Naagnechi and Sai Baba, informed Manish Mehta, Head.
