On the occasion of Sheetla Saptami, celebrated every year on seventh day of Hindu calendar month of Chaitra, women devotees of Udaipur worshiped Sheetla Mata.

Women observe fast a night before, which is broken the next day by eating cold food (prepared a day earlier).

The deity Sheetla Mata is worshiped on this special day, where women of the community pray for well being of their family. The prayer starts early in the morning which continues till evening.

In Mewar region this ritual can be performed on both Seventh and Eighth day of Chaitra Month, in which women offer grain, wheat and milk to the deity.
