The most awaiting cultural fest of Udaipur “Mewar Festival” will have something new this year to entertain the local and foreign audience. Under collector’s direction, the Tourism Department has started the preparation of three day mega events starting from 2^nd April.

Besides the symbolic processions of Gangaur and the Royal Gangaur Boat, this time a boat race, kite show and horse show will add value to this legendry fest, promoting the culture and tradition of Mewar.

Sumita Saroch, Chief Director, Department of Tourism informed , “On 2^nd April, the Gangaur procession and Gangaur boat program will be organized including folk performances by artists at Gangaur Ghat.”

On 3^rd April, a boat race by NCC cadets will be held at Lake Fateh Sagar and a cultural evening with ‘Best Rajasthani Dressed’ Competition for foreign couple will be organized at Gangaur Ghat.

Saroch informed, “On the last day of program, i.e. on 4^th April a Kite Show will be presented at Fateh Sagar Paal from 11 AM to 7 PM, where people will see kites of different colors and shapes.”

Consecutively, Horse Show at Gandhi Ground will also start from 11am and will continue till 4pm. A performance by tribal group will be held at Nehru Garden from 4-6pm.

The event will conclude at Fateh Sagar with Mr. and Ms. Mewar Competition.
