The 66^th Republic Day was marked with the flag hoisting by honorary Home Minister and district in-charge Gulab Chand Kataria at the Maharana Bhupal Stadium.

Ashutosh Pednekar, District Collector informed that the celebration of India’s Constitution commenced with the chief guest hoisting the flag, inspecting the parade and saluting the march past at 9 AM. Police, Hadi Rani Battalion, NCC and Scout Guide’s various units presented spectacular march past.

On the occasion, the NCC Army Girls Senior Division, NCC Navel Senior Division and NCC Cadet Girls were given first, second and third awards, respectively with certificates.

The cultural program commenced with students performing exercises, group dance and the much-awaited, colorful 23 tableaus created by various organizations and departments. The ornamented tableaus attracted the audience present in the stadium. Also, the display of exercises by the special kids enticed all.

Residency Senior Secondary, Chief Medical & Health Officer, Udaipur Dairy won the first, second and third prize, respectively for their creative tableaus.

The other guests present at the function were Phool Singh Meena (Rural MLA), Bhawani Singh Detha (Divisional Commissioner), Anand Srivastava (IG Polcie), Ashutosh A.T Pednekar (Dist. Collector), Ajaypal Lamba (Dist SP) and corporators, freedom fighters with students and general public.

Parvati Kotia, Richa Paneri, Seema Kothari and Mohammad Shamil managed the event.

32 people pertaining to different fields were honored at the event for their sincere contributions.

The program commemorated with the National Anthem infusing patriotism and vigor in each and every one present.

The city witnessed the celebrations of the Republic Day in a plethora of schools, colleges, social clubs and organizations and even on the streets where the flag on India floated above the houses and vehicles.
