Udaipur celebrates Guru Nanak Jayanti or Gurpurab on Thursday, a day that marks the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak. He was the founder of Sikhism and the first of the 10 Sikh Gurus.

The occasion in Udaipur was typically celebrated with devotees singing hymns in praise of the Guru. The Sikh temples or Gurudwara offered Langar, a free community meals to people from all background and faiths.

As per the schedule, the Keertan commenced in the morning followed by recitation of Gurbani and Guru Nanak’s life teachings. The Keertan will continue till late hours and at 1.15 am, the grand celebration will start by the community people.
