All Krishna temples of the city observed a large number of crowds on the occasion of Shree Krishna Janmashtami. The program of Maha Aarti and Bhajans were started post midnight at temples, mainly, Jagdish Mandir and Asthal Mandir.

Decorated with colorful lights, the enchanting sound of hymns and bhajans were pouring saintly emotions within hundreds and thousands of devotees.

Crowd of devotees did Darshan of Krishna Kanhaiya and indulged in prayers till late night.

Matki Fod at Jagdish Chowk

Today, Dadhika Mahotsav (Dahi Matki Fod) will be organized at Jagdish Chowk, near Jagdish Temple. An earthen pot full of curd will be tied on 25 feet high rope and teams of youth will attempt to break it by making human pyramids.

The program will start at evening 4:30 and the winning team will get cash reward of Rs.21,000.
