18^th and last budget of the current tenure of State Government led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot delighted the Udaipurites with the  grant of long awaited status of Municipal Corporation. Though delayed, the decision has pleased locals and political parties who heartily welcomed announcement with fireworks and sweets.

As soon as Udaipur was declared as Corporation, local political parties and social groups started celebrations at various nooks and corners of the city. RajniDangi, Chairperson, UMC distributed sweets among various departments of the present council.

“Along with an announcement of Corporation, certainly authority will increase but at the same time, responsibilities of overall development of Town will also rise”, said Rajni Dangi.

Members of National Youth Congress carried out fireworks at Chetak Circle where senior politicians Trilok Purbia, Neelima Suhkadia along with other supporters were present; Muslim Mahasabha also joined the celebration.
