On the occasion of Roop Chaudas the Hindus, particularly females beautify themselves with traditional as well as modern beauty tips to look pretty for the next day of Deepawali. According to another belief in the Hindu mythology, on the same day Lord Krishna killed the demon Narakasura.

Houses are decorated with colorful Rangolis and Mandanas. Flower decoration is the latest trend among the people for decoration of houses.

Women do the Solah Shringaar, which is considered to be fortunate in the Hindu Mythology. It is believed that bathing stars light on the night of Roop Chaudas before the dawn is as sacred as a dip in the holy river Ganga.

Udaipurites looked quite desperate today in order to beautify themselves. The spas and saloons of the lake city witnessed a rush. Appointments regarding facials, scrubs, bleach, face massage, and various make ups were lined up.

The rates of facials starting from Rs. 500 extended to Rs. 4000; whereas, hair treatments ranged between Rs. 500 to Rs. 5000; people are pouring money to get the best beauty treatment.

On the other hand, many of the people even follow the traditional treatments to glow up themselves. According to Snehlata Mehta, 73, a housewife, “I never went to the parlor, but have maintained my skin with ancient domestic methods of beautification. Even the Attar (scent) is prepared in the house itself following the traditional methods.”
