-Chocolates are being preferred to cakes.
-Gift sale has also gone down.
Valentine’s Day is so close by. Markets are all set to serve people as demands for gifts, flowers and chocolates go high for the Valentine season. But this year, reportedly the sale has gone down by 50 percent.
The dealers and gift shop owners informed that they have a great deal of stock lying with them since last year which has been brought out again for sale. It has also been informed that sale of cakes has gone down as chocolates are being preferred by the public.
New trends have set in as love-meters and flower boxes are high in demand. The sale of cakes which used to fetch around 20 lakh rupees has lowered down between 10 and 12 lakh rupees. Even the florists are not happy as they have received orders for barely 2 lakh rupees as compared to 5 lakhs of last year by this time. Every sale has dropped by 50 percent.
Instead of usual flower bouquets, people are opting for chocolate bouquets. The love-meter is high in demand, which has a liquid filling and when touched the liquid rises in the container. Flower boxes are being preferred which are being customised as per demands. The flower boxes contain flowers pasted on the box and have chocolates and teddy bears inside.
