Vibrant Gujarat Pre-Navratri Festival 2025 to Rock Udaipur on Sept 14
Udaipur, September 9, 2025 – Gujarat Tourism Department is organising the Vibrant Gujarat Pre-Navratri Festival 2025 in Udaipur. The grand inaugural event will take place on September 14 at the Field Club offering a unique blend of music, dance and tradition. Entry is free for all and will be allowed on a first-come-first-served basis.
This was announced at a press conference yesterday on September 7 by Chetan Misal, General Manager, Gujarat Tourism, Harendra Singh Dabi, Assistant General Manager, Gujarat Tourism, and Gaurikant Sharma, Deputy Director, Department of Information & Public Relations, Udaipur.
The chief guest at the opening ceremony will be Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. He will be joined by Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari and Gujarat’s Tourism Minister Mulubhai Bera.
Misal shared that leading up to the festival, free Garba workshops will be conducted from September 8 to 13, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm at JDCA Dance & Sports Fitness Hub, Udaipur. Entry will also be on a first-come-first-served basis. Interested participants can contact 63581 44611 to register.
Exciting prizes and gifts will be awarded at the event including:

- Best traditional attire (Men, Women, Children)
- Best Garba performance (Men, Women, Duos, Children)
- Best group performance (5 to 10 members)
- Best uploaded reel award
Dabi shared that the evening will feature a live performance by renowned Gujarati singer Parthiv Gohil, who will showcase the vibrancy of traditional Garba. Visitors will also get to experience Gujarat’s rich dance, music, handicrafts, and cuisine.
Traditional attire is mandatory for those participating in the Garba dance. Visitors in non-traditional attire can enjoy the celebration as spectators.
The festival will begin at 7:30 pm. It will open with a 30-minute traditional Gujarati folk performance, featuring vibrant acts such as Talwar Raas, Gof Gunthan and Maniyaro Raas. Following this will be Gohil's performance, leading a talented orchestra, setting the stage with enchanting Garba rhythms. The floor will then open for a grand Garba session, welcoming both seasoned dancers and enthusiastic first-timers.
Garba is Gujarat’s iconic folk dance and has been recognised by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. The organisers described Navratri as more than just a festival – it is a way of bringing hearts together.
