June 28, 2025 - Shefaili Jariwala, the actor-dancer who took the entertainment world by storm with her iconic Kanta Laga song, passed away on the night of June 27 at the age of 42. Condolences messages and tributes have poured in from a shocked film fraternity.

The cause of the death is yet to be ascertained although earlier it was reported that the Bollywood actor had died of cardiac arrest. Her body has been sent for post mortem, according to Mumbai Police, who said “Her body was found at her residence in Andheri. The police received the information at 1 a.m. (Saturday). Her body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for postmortem. The cause of her death is not yet clear”.

As per reports quoting hospital sources, the actor was rushed to the Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai at around 11:15 pm on June 27 by her husband Parag Tyagi and three others but reportedly had passed away before reaching the hospital.

Colleagues and fans have expressed shock and disbelief at the actor's untimely death.
