The Journalism Department of the Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, in joint association with the Lake City Press Club, Udaipur has announced a State level Photography competition in memory of Late Jaykant Sharma, a renowned Photo Journalist.

Admittance of photos is open till 15^th July for Photo Journalists who are interested in submitting their photos.

Dr. Kunjan Acharya, the Head of Department, Journalism, at MLSU said that this event is a part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the University. He also said that all photos that have appeared in newspapers between 1^st July 2011 and 30^th June 2012 are eligible for entry in this competition.

All the entries will be exhibited at the Udaipur Information Centre (Soochna Kendra). The top three entries will be selected by a panel of experts.

The best photo exhibited will be getting a prize of Rs. 7,500 and the runner-up will take home Rs. 5,000. The photo selected as second runner-up will be given a cash prize of Rs. 2,100. All three winners will also be given a certificate and memento by the event organizers.

The candidates will need to attach a 12×15 size photo along with the cutting from the newspaper in which the photo has appeared and submit the same to Lake City Press Club, 1^st Floor, Above Ren Basera, Opposite Suchna Kendra, Chetak Circle, Udaipur. A soft copy of the photo also needs to be emailed to acharyakunj@gmail.com.
