A case against two persons for alleged rape of a female related to a patient has been registered at the Hiran Magri Police station. The incident took place at a private hospital in the area, on the night of 26th June. The Police has nabbed one of the accused today morning while the other is still at large.

The victim, a 35-year-old married woman and her relatives lodged a complaint that two men Lalit and Hitesh Harijan employed as a sweepers at Kanak Hospital located at Hiran Magri Sector-3 allegedly raped her on the night of 26^th June in the room opposite to the operation theatre located on the second floor of the hospital.

The woman whose name is not disclosed also charged that the accused forced her into the room while she went to clean the dinner utensils at around 9:30 pm. The victim’s father is said to be admitted in the same hospital and is undergoing treatment for a medical condition. He was admitted to the hospital on 21st June.

According to sources, the incident came to light when the victim narrated the incidence to her husband. The case was lodged after midnight at around 1:15am.

Hospital Administrator Dr. Amit Dhing has fired both the sweepers and canceled the contract, although he did not confirm the incident, saying, “at 9:30 the room opposite to O.P and the passage is always busy with lots of activities, how come nobody came to know about the happening”, said Dr. Dhing.

He also said that while checking the phone of Lalit, a misscall from the woman victim was found there, which makes the story more complicated.

Narendra Kumar Patidar, investigating officer told UT that “medical test of victim was carried at MB Hospital. One of the accused Lalit alias Lakhan is a resident of slum located at sector-3 was caught while other accused Hitesh is still absconding.”
