A 10 year old girl has been allegedly raped by her step father at her home here at Udaipur, police said on Wednesday. The incidence was said to have taken place three days back but it came to light on Wednesday afternoon when the victim girl shared the incident with her mother. Shocked with the incident the mother of the victim later lodged and FIR against her husband.

Based on her complaint a case has been registered against the accused under various sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), said Station House Officer Sukher Police Station Yogendra Vyas.

SHO Vyas said" The victim's mother in her report mentioned that it was three days back when she was out for her work and her daughter was alone at the her house , taking the advantage of the situation the accused who is in his late 30's raped his step daughter and also threaten her for dire consequenses upon sharing it with anyone.

After which the victim started remaining quit and depressed. In her report the victim's mother claimed that when she questioned her husband about the incident he instead answering it started shouting on her and also blamed the victim for making false stories."

SHO Vyas said that he also tried to stop her from reporting it to police but shocked with the incident the mother of the victim reached at the police station and lodged a complaint. Later Ankur Tank a member of Child Welfare Committee of Udaipur also reached at the police station and by taking a cognizance into the matter he also asked the police to take strict action against the culprit. As per SHO the accused himself is a laborer and got married to the victim's mother since last one year after which they were staying with him at his house at Udaipur.
