A 14 year old boy has been detained on Friday for allegedly raping a nine year old neighbour in Udaipur. On Thursday the accused who was known to the victim's family called her at his home at around 8:00 pm and sexually abused her. The matter came to light when the girl went crying home and named the accused.

Sp Yogesh Goyal said "The accused who is also a minor has been booked under section 376 of IPC and various sections of Protection of Children from Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). The accused has been detained and is under police interrogation.The medical examination of the victim was done and the investigation of the matter is being handed over to the Additional Sp Mota Ram."

As per the locals the accused is notorious and has earlier also attempted to sexually assault others girls of the area. It was on Thursday when the mother of the victim girl went out of her house for some work.Taking the advantage of the situation the accused took the victim girl with him and sexually abused her. But as soon as she started shouting out of pain he fled the scene leaving her there.

Later she went back to her house and shared the incident with her parents following which they called the police and lodged an FIR naming the accused, said Sp Goyal.
