15 student members of ABVP(Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad) were arrested last night of 11th Aug, 2012 for forcefully entering SP, Hariprasad Sharma’s residence.

Ambamata Police along with the additional police force detained the student members who were later released this morning after being warned by ADM (City), Yaseen Pathan.

According to Police, 15 students including including Harendra, Chitresh, Chintan, Himanshu, Nishant, Kaushik, Gaurav, Raghuveer, Prateek, Kuldeep, Naveen, Mahipal, Tej Pratap, Vineet and Devendra Pratap were arrested under section 151 of IPC.

According to Police, 15 student members of ABVP were caught last night from SP’s residence where they were forcefully entering the residential premises and were allegedly drunk.  The students, who went to meet the SP late in the night, were told by Guards about SP being out of town.

Students started creating a nuisance when guards informed Ambamata Police Station, and Police came along with MBC Force to arrest the students.

According to Hiren Patel, ABVP member, “Students came to know that some opposing party members are destroying and tearing the banners and posters of ABVP, pasted around the city”.

“Last night, while they were sitting in their University Road Office, a jeep came and halted a few feet away from office and started tearing ABVP’s posters. They ran to stop them, but the miscreants fled from the scene”, he added.

He further explained, “They informed Pratap Nagar Police Station, who then came to the spot; but instead of helping the ABVP members, they took the situation lightly and didn’t cooperate, asking them to complaint to SP”.

The members then wrote a request-letter to SP – for looking into the case and went to hand over the letter to SP’s residence.  Guards on the gate of residence stopped them and told them about SP being out of town.

The Guard then offered them to wait while he arranged a call to SP, but he then made a call to Police and the Police came on the spot and started misbehaving with the members, which resulted in the quarrel.
