Special Task Force (STF) and police raided a workshop as they had information of illegal sandalwood business being carried out. The workshop in Karwadi which falls in Dhanmandi area was seized.
1668 kilos of sandalwood worth 13 lakh rupees was recovered from this workshop and a man working as labour was arrested from here. The main culprit is absconding. As informed by SP Bishnoi, police were informed about illegal trading of sandalwood in Karwadi area after which the teams went and raided this workshop. Along with 1668 kilos of the wood, a saw-machine was also seized by police. The main culprit Jameel who has various cases on his head escaped before police reached the workshop.
The labour in the shop Homa who hails from Nai village was arrested by police. As per sources, Jameel was carrying out this illegal trade since a long time and police was not even aware of it.
The point is that how could the police stay unaware of such an illegal activity? How did the main culprit get to know of police raid that he escaped on time? The accused Jameel has 2 cases against him in Ambamata police station, 6 in Bhupalpura police station and 2 in Dhanmandi police station. All the cases are related to illegal buying and selling of sandalwood yet the police did not know that he was still actively carrying out this trade.
