2 men have been arrested for selling duplicate footwear under the banner of a private branded company. Sukher police arrested these 2 men while they selling footwear at road side in front of Celebration Mall.

Gajendra Nahata (62) resident of New Bhupalpura and Rahul Meena (29) were arrested on Thursday night. Police got information about these 2 men selling footwear on the pretext that they were from a branded footwear company.

When police reached the spot, the 2 accused had packed all the stuff into boxes and were about to leave. Police made them open the boxes and found that they were in possession of 70 pairs each which were not branded items but merely labelled with a reputed company’s sticker.

Upon interrogation, they revealed that they had bought the duplicate stuff from Delhi, and were selling them at 2000 or 2500 rupees which was half of the actual price of the branded material. Police arrested them under IPC Act 420.
