3 Held for Mobile Tower Scam

The accused have confessed of the operation that they were running and have told the police that they have scammed several people of a total ranging from Rs.3 to 5 Laks using their fake mobile tower scheme.

“The scam would have been started by an advertisement that had been placed by one of the accused. The advertisement would request for those persons who have an amount of land may be rented to the advertisers in order to construct a mobile tower”, said Satish Meena SHO Pratapnagar Police station.

In return for their land, the advertisers had promised a large sum of money to the owners along with a job to one of the family members. However, the advertisers ask for a registration fee or file charges in order to process the offer which would be in the range of Rs. 5000-10000 from each family, revealed the officer.

This way, the accused scammed money from the persons who responded to their offer. Eventually, however, the persons offering the land found out that no such mobile tower was to be constructed and that they have been scammed of the money in the form of registration fees.
