It may be noted that, fishing is prohibited by the Fisheries Department from 15th July to 31st August but still many people get involved in the illegal activities.

All fishing materials were seized by the officials. The offenders were released after a strict warning for stern action, including police detention, next time they are caught.

The initial period of monsoon is considered to be the breeding season for fishes. Hence strict vigilance is installed in lake areas to prevent the prohibited activities. Department of Fisheries is struggling with lack of staff and huge work area as they also keep eye on Rajsamand district.
