4 child labourers rescued from Shastri Circle
Members of Anti-human trafficking unit yesterday rescued four Nepali kids from the clutches of child labouring. All the four were working at Jain Nashta Centre situated at Shastri Circle.
Members of Anti-human trafficking unit yesterday rescued four Nepali kids from the clutches of child labouring. All the four were working at Jain Nashta Centre situated at Shastri Circle.
Anti-human trafficking unit inspector Hanuvant Singh Bhati informed that their unit received information about children being used as labourers at Jain Nashta Centre, Shastri Circle. On receiving the information, Police reached the spot along with members of Child Line and Aasra Vikas Sansthan.
Police found a staff of 7-8 people working at Jain Nashta centre of which 4 were kids from Nepal. The kids had to carry out chores like washing utensils, cleaning tables, serving orders to customers etc. On rescuing the kids and further interrogation, it was revealed that they all belong to Achham district in Nepal. The kids were brought here after a deal was cracked between a person called Arjun Singh and the shop owner Deepak Jain (resident of Padma Prabhu colony, University Road).
The kids used to work at Nashta centre and stay in a room behind it. Kids were reportedly asked to work for upto 15 hours a day and paid Rs 4000 as monthly salary. The kids were also given food by the shop owner.
While Deepak has been arrested by Bhupalpura Police, search is on for Arjun Singh.
