6 Medical Students Arrested for Attacking Petrol Pump employees

Six medical students accused of thrashing petrol pump workers on the night of 25th July, surrendered before Hathipol Police station today. Police has arrested them for storming into the Apaji Petrol Pump located at Chetak Circle and physically assaulting the petrol pump employees.

Six medical students accused of thrashing petrol pump workers on the night of 25th July, surrendered before Hathipol Police station today. Police has arrested them for storming into the Apaji Petrol Pump located at Chetak Circle and physically assaulting the petrol pump employees.

Nikhil Maliani (Kota), Piyush Kapoor (Ajmer), Lokesh Meena (Sikar), Keshav Meena (Kota), Nikhil Tank (Udaipur) and Lokesh Purohit (Bhopal) are students of Rabindra Nath Tagore Medical College and staying at the hostel in RNT College’s campus.

According to police, the culprits were asked to present themselves in front of police by RNT’s present principal Dr. Suresh Goyal.

All attackers were caught in the CCTV cameras installed at the petrol pump which lead to their identification.

The Wednesday night attack sparked anger among petrol pump association and local residents of the city. As a mark of protest, the association had asked all pumps to close their services from evening 5 till 7 in morning.

The students were presented in the Court today and were sent to Judicial Custody while the locals of the city also expressed their concern and strongly condemned the action of medical students.

Taking strict action, the College and Hostel authorities have suspended all the 6 students from Hostel and asked their parents to immediately meet the college officials within 7 days.
