Commandments on protection against CyberCrime

  • Keep changing password and enable two-factor authentication. Cyber fraudsters use social media and social sites to track identities of potential victims through photographs, email IDs and phone numbers. Phishing attacks through SMS and social sites hack such information.
  • These three identities need to be protected. Hence unknown calls asking for such personal information needs to be reported and conversation should be ceased immediately.
  • Change privacy settings and enable "Only for Friends". IDs and phone numbers as well as friend list should be Only for Friends.
  • Keep changing passwords every month and link accounts to both email and mobile number.
  • Instances of video calling using Facebook and WhatsApp are on the rise. If such a thing happens, report immediately and block the caller. Do not fall prey to blackmailing.
