The RPSC Second Grade Teachers recruitment examination being held by the RPSC on 24 December has been cancelled due to paper leak.
As per reports from the Police, a bus carrying RPSC aspirants was stopped near Bekariya village in Udaipur district early today morning. This was done afte information was received that the paper has leaked and students travelling by this bus had the papers with them. Accordingly the action took place under supervision of Udaipur SP Vikas Sharma. The bus, carrying students and paper experts was stopped. 44 persons were arrested with papers on them. Of these 37 were students coming to Udaipur to appear for the examination and the remaining were experts and invigilators.
On getting confirmation that the paper was the same as that of today's examination, centres across Rajasthan were informed that the examination stands cancelled. In a college in Udaipur, which is among one of the examination centres, one of the invigilators informed UdaipurTimes that the paper was given to the invigilators at 0845am on 24 December, which was the scheduled time. Within a few minutes, as the papers were being sorted, administratitive staff rushed in and took away the papers. Then it was announced that the paper stands cancelled.
Operation Update
The oepration was carried out under the supervision of Udaipur SP Vikas Sharma at Bekariya police station circle where a bus carrying students was stopped for checking on the information of the sources. It was early in the morning on the day of the examination when the police received information that the paper has been leaked and the candidates coming towards Udaipur to appear in the examination in the bus were having examination papers in their possession.
Superintendent of Police Vikas Sharma told that the action was carried out by the city police and that the team included the Station House Officers of 5 police stations and their teams. The teams were led by IPS Abhishek Kumar, Additional SP Manjeet Singh. Sharma said that the suspected bus was stopped and checked during which 37 students were found with the said papers and 7 other including the experts and invigilators were found with other equipment. All of them hail from Jalore district of Rajasthan.
Notably, police have also arrested 3 dummy candidates in three different police station circles in last two days while they were appearing in the 2nd grade teacher recuirtment exam held at Udaipur. During their interogation they revealed that they were appearing in the exam on the name of the other candidate in exchange of around 10 lakh rupees. All previously arrested were under 5 days of police custody remand and the investigation of the matter is being handed over to Additional SP Manjeet Singh.

The number of people arrested by Udaipur police on Saturday in connection RPSC 2nd grade teacher recuirtment examination paper leak incident reached to 49 by evening.
SP Vikas Sharma told those that were by the police incldues the mastermind identified as Suresh Vishnoi, a resident of Sanchore city of Jalore district and is said to be the Principal of a Government School in Thelia village of Sabchore.
Sharma told that the police got the first input about the suspects on Friday evening at around 7 pm and since then joint teams of Special Operation Group, District Special Task Force and local police were on the look out for the suspects. In the wee hours on Saturday morning, the said bus was spotted at Sukher. It halted there for around 3 hours and then went its way. Later the investigation team got the tip about the movement of bus towards Bekariya area and accordingly a road barricading was launched and the bus was intercepted in which 44 people were found including 37 students with 7 girls and 30 boys and 7 other experts in it. They all were brought to Police Lines in Udaipur and later the police nabbed another group of 6 people including the mastermind in a car. Out of the total 49 accused most of them hail from Jalore and Sirohi districts of Rajasthan.
Sharma also added that during the initial interogation the accused revealed that they boarded the bus only to note the answers of the questions and than they were about to be dropped somewhere in the city from where they would reach to their respective examination centers. SP said that they have also detained the driver of the bus and also investigating his role in the crime. All the arrested accused were booked under several sections of IPC Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment Act. Sharma further said that initially the accused revealed that they have finalized the deal for the paper in rupees 10 lakhs with each candidate.
