Viral photos of a man and woman tied separately to two trees went viral over the last 24 hour, leading police to an incident in Gingla Village, in Udaipur district.

As per information recieved from the police, a man and a married woman belonging to the tribal community were rounded up by villagers, including the husband of the woman on suspicion of an illicit affair. The pair were kidnapped, tied up to trees and beaten by the husband and other villagers as a punishment. Two people, including the husband Kailash Meena and his brother Shankar Meena have been booked for kidnapping, assault and illegal confinement and arrested for further questioning, as per DSP Sudha Palawat.

On learning of this incident, the police team, led by SHO Kamlendra Singh rushed to the village and freed the duo, after which the man Noja, alias Gautam Meena (28) and the woman filed an FIR against Kailash and Shankar. In their report, Noja mentioned that he received a call from the woman, asking him to come to her house as she had some work. When Noja reached the woman's house, he saw that she was tied to a tree and Kailash and Shankar were there, waiting for him. They immediately attacked him and tied him to another tree as well.  The FIR also mentions that Kailash and Shankar demanded Rs 50,000 for releasing them. They were thrashed and beaten up during the 5 hour ordeal.

Both Kailash and Shankar have been booked under various sections of IPC and are still under police questioning, Palwat added.
